Steve, Cathy, and Nicholas -- Steve's running log: Sprint 5K (created 2013-11-28)

Sprint 5K. This is a timed 5K race that is run every Thanksgiving morning. I started running this in 2012. The route has changed several times. All the runs start on the southeast corner of the Sprint Parkway loop. Two of the three routes proceed clockwise up to Outlook Street. The 2012 route takes a counterclockwise loop along 112th Street, Lamar Avenue, and 115th Street before heading back along the Sprint Parkway loop counterclockwise. The route changed in 2013, and takes a slightly longer loop (and clockwise this time) down to Glenwood Avenue rather than Lamar. The new route also comes back on the eastern portion of Sprint Parkway rather than retracing the western portion of Sprint Parkway. The most recent route starts counterclockwise along the Sprint Parkway loop, turns west on 115th Street, north along Nall Avenue, east along 112th Street, and then returns to Sprint Parkway via Glenwood Avenue and 115th Street. It returns along the eastern part of the Sprint Parkway loop to where we started.
