1. Identify a research idea that you have developed in the past or that you are planning to develop in the future. Note the source or sources for this idea. Relate them to the sources listed above. Are there any sources you used that are not listed in the above material?

2. Discuss the research idea from the previous exercise. Does this idea lend itself to one or more research hypotheses? Develop a draft statement of one or more research hypotheses, if appropriate.

3. Read one of the grants passed out to you in class and identify the research hypothesis. Does it include all of the elements suggested above?

4. Review one of the grants passed out in class.

• Identify the theme and blueprint for this grant. Are these prominent in the grant?
• Evaluate the legibility of this grant.
• Does this grant acknowledge the perspective of the reviewer?
