Stats #35: Statistical Evidence. Do the Pieces Fit Together? Systematic Overviews and Meta-Analyses.
Content: This class helps you assess the quality of a systematic overview or meta-analysis. This class requires no mathematical background and uses no formulas.
Objectives: In this class you will learn how to:
- recognize sources of heterogeneity in meta-analysis;
- identify how to avoid problems with publication bias; and
- explain the ethical concerns with failure to publish and with duplicate publication.
Teaching strategies: Didactic lectures and small group exercises.
IRB Education Credits: This class qualifies for 3 IRB Education Credits (IRBECs).
